natijasida
As a Result of
natijasida means as a result of. Put the cause first: Kuchli yomgʻir natijasida yoʻllar yopildi (Roads were closed as a result of heavy rain).
How It Works
How it is built. Natijasida is natija (result) + the possessive -si + the -da case. The words before it name the cause, and the rest of the sentence gives the result:
- yomgʻir natijasida (as a result of the rain)
- tekshiruv natijasida (as a result of the inspection)
- koʻp mehnat qilish natijasida (as a result of working hard)
What can come before it. A plain noun usually takes no ending, as in a noun compound. A verb becomes an -ish noun, or it describes a noun with -gan: koʻrilgan choralar natijasida (as a result of the measures taken). A pronoun takes -ning: buning natijasida (as a result of this).
On its own. Natijada, without the possessive, is an adverb that opens a sentence: Natijada, jamoamiz finalga chiqdi (As a result, our team reached the final).
Cause, not purpose. Natijasida names the cause that leads to a result. It belongs to writing, news and reports; in everyday speech people more often use -gani uchun or sababli. For a goal you want to reach, use -ish uchun instead.
