भले ... तबहूँ

Even Though: भले ... तबहूँ

Level 5Sounds Like bhalē ... tabahūm̐

भले starts what you admit, and तबहूँ starts what is still true.

How It Works

भले ... तबहूँ means "even if ... still". The first part grants something; the second says it does not change the result.

भले (granted)तबहूँ (still true)
भले चाय महँग होयतबहूँ हम उहै दुकान पर जाब
भले बरखा होयतबहूँ हम जाब
भले देर होइ जायतबहूँ पूरा काम करब

तबहूँ is तब plus -हूँ, the "even" ending. It means "even then".

Compare पै, which is a plain "but". भले ... तबहूँ is stronger: it admits the first point before saying it does not matter.

Use भले ... तबहूँ, not the Hindi pair भले ही ... फिर भी.
