मिलै जाब
Going to Do Something: -ै
-ै before go or come shows the reason for going: to do something.
How It Works
The purpose form ends in -ै. Add it to the stem of the verb you want to do, then use a verb of motion.
| Verb | Purpose form |
|---|---|
| मिलब | मिलै |
| देखब | देखै |
| खाब | खाय |
| जाब | जाय |
A stem that ends in a vowel takes -य instead of -ै. That is why "to eat" is खाय and not खाै. A verb whose -त form has व keeps it and takes -ै: आवत gives आवै, रोवत gives रोवै.
The motion verb carries the tense and the person: नेहा सना से मिलै गई (Neha went to meet Sana), हम काल्हि मेला देखै जाब (I will go to see the fair).
The purpose form is also used with लागब (start), आउब (know how) and चाही (should). Keep the form the same in all of them.
