जेतना ... ओतना
As Much as
जेतना ... ओतना links two amounts: the more ... the more.
How It Works
जेतना ... ओतना matches two amounts. It has two meanings that depend on the verb.
- As much as: जेतना दूध चाहीं, ओतना ले लीं. (Take as much milk as you need.)
- The more ... the more: जेतना पढ़बऽ, ओतना सीखबऽ. (The more you read, the more you will learn.)
Add -ए to ओतना to mean "exactly that much": ओतने. A noun can follow: जेतना पइसा, ओतना खरच.
The same shape gives the adjectives जेतना, ओतना (so much), and the question word केतना (how much). In every case the form stays the same for a masculine or feminine noun.
