جیسے ہی
As Soon as a Clause Becomes True
This happens → the next event follows promptly.
How It Works
جیسے ہی identifies the moment an event happens or a condition becomes true. The main clause follows closely from that point.
A completed past form suits a narrated sequence. Future plans or instructions use the forms appropriate to those clauses; Urdu need not copy English tense choices word for word.
Unlike a short participle phrase, this construction can state a separate subject in each clause. ہی adds the emphasis on the boundary.

- جیسے ہی آپ کو خبر ملے، ہمیں بتائیے گا۔
As soon as you hear the news, please tell us.
An open future event leads to a polite request.

As soon as the rain stopped, we left.
The second event follows the end of the rain.
- جیسے ہی میں پہنچوں گا، سامان رکھ دوں گا۔
As soon as I arrive, I will put down the luggage.
The future forms describe the speaker’s plan.
