अइसे ... जइसे
As if
अइसे ... जइसे means as if, with the -े form of होखल.
How It Works
अइसे ... जइसे compares an action to something imagined. The second half usually uses a subjunctive verb, often होखे, because the comparison is not true. A plain present also works, as in the second example.
| Part | Role |
|---|---|
| अइसे | in this way (the real action) |
| जइसे | as if (the imagined case) |
| होखे | subjunctive of होखल |
The imagined half can be positive or negative: जइसे कुछ भइल ना होखे (as if nothing had happened).
जइसे ... ओइसे is a different pattern. It compares two real ways. अइसे ... जइसे compares a real way to an imagined one.
