-े लागल

Starting to Do Something

Level 3Sounds Like ̔ē lāgala

The -े form plus लागल means began to.

How It Works

The -े form is the stem with -े added (रोवे, पढ़े, गावे). लागल follows and agrees with the person.

WhoForm
हमपढ़े लगनी
ऊपढ़े लागल
ऊ (a woman)पढ़े लगली
respected man, ऊ लोगपढ़े लगलें

It also works for the habitual: लइका रोवे लागेला (the child starts crying) and for the future.

It says the start of something. It is a sudden or slow start, not a plan. For a plan, use चाहल.

Don't put -त before लागल. The -े form is the one.
