How It Works

Adding A Point
In the food example, นอกจากนี้ adds the claim that the price is cheap after the claim that the food is delicious. In the language example, work experience abroad is the added qualification. The exercise example adds a second claim; these grammar examples do not independently verify a restaurant’s price or provide health advice. The cited university prose also uses นอกจากนี้ to add points.

Read The Added Clause

Adding And Excluding
The primary dictionary gives besides and except meanings for นอกจาก, and besides-that wording for นอกจากนั้น. In this entry, นอกจากนี้ adds information. For the party task’s intended exclusion, the selected phrase is ยกเว้นผม, “except me.” นอกจากนี้ผม does not express that requested exception.
