dins + Length of Time
In a Length of Time
Dins plus a length of time means in an hour, in three days.
How It Works
| Expression | Meaning |
|---|---|
| dins una ora | in an hour |
| dins tres jorns | in three days |
| dins doas setmanas | in two weeks |
| dins un mes | in a month |
The length of time counts from the moment you speak: Torni dins una ora means I come back one hour from now.
Use doas before a feminine plural such as setmanas or oras, and dos before a masculine plural such as jorns.
Do not mix it up with the words that look back: i a dos ans and fa dos ans mean two years ago. For something that began in the past and goes on, use dempuèi.
