pendent
During
Pendent plus a length of time or a period says how long, or when, an action fills.
How It Works
| Pendent + | Example |
|---|---|
| a length of time | Avèm legit pendent doas oras. |
| a season or a period | Pendent l'estiu, anam a la mar. |
| the whole of a period | Joan dormís pendent tota la nuèch. |
It works with the present and the compound past. In the compound past it counts a finished stretch of time: Marta a cantat pendent tres minutas.
Before a clause with its own verb, add que: Pendent que manjam, parlam. Plain pendent never stands before a conjugated verb.
Pendent looks at the whole stretch of time. For the starting point, use dempuèi. For a point in the future, use dins.
