uèi, ièr, deman
Today, Yesterday and Tomorrow
Uèi, ièr and deman place an event near today.
How It Works
| Word | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| uèi | today | Uèi parlam occitan. |
| ièr | yesterday | Ièr èra dimars. |
| deman | tomorrow | Deman vau a Albi. |
These three words place an event in time. Put one first to set the scene, or after the verb: Deman vau a Albi. or Vau a Albi deman.
The verb still has to fit the time. With uèi and deman the present works. For ièr you need a past form, such as èra in Ièr èra dimars. You learn the past tenses later; for now just recognize èra as the past of es.
Keep the accents in uèi and ièr. Use the three words with day names to say when: uèi es dijòus.
