News Passive Perfect

The passive perfect says that something has been done, and the doer is left out. News and notices use it.

How It Works

The perfect -एको छ tells that something has been done. With the passive linker it becomes -इएको छ, and the doer is usually left out of the sentence.

The thing that was done often comes first: नयाँ नियम लागू गरिएको छ. A time word or the people it is for can open the sentence too: सबै विद्यार्थीलाई सूचना पठाइएको छ. The same form with थियो puts it in the past: हिजो सभा स्थगित गरिएको थियो.

With a defining statement the helper is हो: यो मन्दिर २०३० सालमा बनाइएको हो.

Use it in news, reports and notices. In speech people use the active verb, for example सरकारले नयाँ नियम ल्यायो.

    The new rule has been put in force.

    The doer is not named.

  3. सबै विद्यार्थीलाई सूचना पठाइएको छ।

    Notice has been sent to all students.

    पठाइएको is from पठाउनु.

  4. हिजो सभा स्थगित गरिएको थियो।

    The meeting was postponed yesterday.

    थियो puts it in the past.

  5. यो मन्दिर २०३० सालमा बनाइएको हो।

    This temple was built in 2030 BS.

    हो closes a statement that says a fact about the temple.
