Wanting Someone Else to Act

Level 4Sounds Like cāhaita chī jē

After चाहब, use जे and the wish form of the verb to say you want someone else to act.

How It Works

The wish form depends on who will act.

Who actsEndingExample

Examples:

(Mother wants me to become a doctor.)
(I want him to come.)
(Grandmother wants the little boy to study.)
(I don't want him to go.)

The verb चाहब changes with the person who wants: चाहैत छी, चाहैत छथि, चाहैत अछि.

Hindi says "चाहती हूँ कि". Maithili uses जे, not कि.
