ইয়াত / তাত
Here and There
ইয়াত is “here” and তাত is “there”: সেইখন কিতাপ ইয়াত আছে “that book is here”.
How It Works
ইয়াত and তাত are place words. They take the position of a place with -ত, such as ঘৰত.
| Word | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ইয়াত | here | ইয়াত বিষায়। “It hurts here.” |
| তাত | there | তাত সেইটো কি? “What is that over there?” |
They often come right before the verb, but they can also begin a sentence.
They can also come right after the person or thing you talk about: মা তাত আছে। “Mother is there.”
Both words answer the question ক’ত? “where?”. For movement towards a place, a later lesson adds -লৈ.
