Future After quand
Put both verbs in the future when both actions are still to come.
How It Works
| The action | Tense after quand | Example |
|---|---|---|
| still to come | future | Quand arribaràs, telefonaràs. |
| one event in the past | simple past | Quand arribèt, èra nuèch. |
| a habit | present | Quand plòu, restam a l'ostal. |
A quick test: if the English main clause has will, use the future after quand as well.
The verbs follow the usual rules for the future, including the irregular stems: Quand serai a Tolosa, Quand auràs fam, Quand vendrà Maria.
Writers of tales use the same pattern: the future follows quand whenever the speaker looks ahead.
