-ने गर्छ

Doing Something Regularly

Level 4Sounds Like nē garcha

-ने गर्छ means usually does.

How It Works

This pattern is for habits that happen regularly. The main verb takes -ने and गर्नु carries the ending.

DoerPresent
मउठ्ने गर्छु
हामीजाने गर्छौँ
तपाईं, आमापिउने गर्नुहुन्छ
उनी (woman)आउने गर्छिन्

For a past habit, change गर्छ to गर्थ्यो and the other habitual endings: म हरेक वर्ष दशैंमा गाउँ जाने गर्थेँ.

It sounds a bit more settled than a plain present. Use it for routines such as what you usually do on Saturdays. Do not use -नु here; the form is always -ने. Add a time word such as सधैँ or कहिलेकाहीँ to show how often.
