अनुसार points to a source or a rule. The spelling depends on what comes before it.

How It Works

The word अनुसार means according to. It tells where a statement comes from, or which rule a plan follows.

For a source that is a person, use का: उनका अनुसार यो कुरा सत्य होइन (according to him, this is not true).

The word fits written Nepali and formal talk, as in प्रहरीका अनुसार and नियमअनुसार. In everyday speech, people prefer a plain verb, such as उनले यस्तो भनिन् (she said so).

The word does not change for person or number. Only the noun before it changes, and a person is marked with का: उनीहरूका अनुसार (according to them).

    According to the Meteorological Department, it will rain tomorrow.

    का अनुसार is two words after a genitive.

  2. योजनाअनुसार हामी बिहान सात बजे हिँड्छौँ।

    As planned, we leave at seven in the morning.

    अनुसार joins the plain noun योजना.

  3. उनका अनुसार यो कुरा सत्य होइन।

    According to him, this is not true.

    उनका is the genitive of उनी.

  4. नियमअनुसार सबैले शुल्क तिर्नुपर्छ।

    According to the rules, everyone must pay the fee.

    नियमअनुसार is one word.

  5. डाक्टरको सल्लाहअनुसार उनले औषधि खाइन्।

    On the doctor's advice, she took the medicine.

    सल्लाहअनुसार joins the plain noun सल्लाह.

  • Writing अनुसार as a separate word after a plain noun.

    योजना अनुसार हामी बिहान सात बजे हिँड्छौँ।
