How It Works

को and बारेमा work as a pair. को joins the topic, and बारेमा follows after a space.

Use it with verbs of saying, asking, reading and thinking: कुरा गर्नु (to talk), भन्नु (to say), सोध्नु (to ask), पढ्नु (to read).

For a person, the same pattern works: तिमी कसको बारेमा कुरा गर्छौ? (who are you talking about?). With the pronoun म, use मेरो: मेरो बारेमा. With तिमी, use तिम्रो: तिम्रो बारेमा.

Print also uses the short form बारे, as in नेपालको बारे. Use बारेमा in your own writing.

    With म, use मेरो.

Common Mistakes

  • Leaving out को.

    मैले नेपाल बारेमा किताब पढेँ।
    मैले नेपालको बारेमा किताब पढेँ।

    बारेमा needs को before it.
