რაც
What and That
რაც means what, whatever or the thing that.
How It Works
რაც (rats) does for things what ვინც does for people.
| Case | Form | Example |
|---|---|---|
| nominative | რაც | რაც თქვი (what you said) |
| dative | რასაც | რასაც ამბობ (what you are saying) |
The case comes from the verb in the clause. თქვი (you said) is in the past group, so its object is nominative: რაც თქვი. ამბობ (you say) is in the present, so its object is dative: რასაც ამბობ.
These patterns are the most common:
- ის, რაც: ეს ზუსტად ის არის, რაც მჭირდება (this is exactly what I need).
- ყველაფერი, რაც: ყველაფერი, რაც ვიცი (everything I know).
- რაც ..., ის: რაც გინდა, ის აიღე (take whatever you want).
You will also meet რაც in fixed phrases such as მას შემდეგ, რაც (after).
