Half past uses the next hour: ოთხის ნახევარი is half past three.

How It Works

The hour you are in has already begun, so Georgian names the hour it is heading for. ნახევარი (nakhevari) means half, and 3:30 is half of the fourth hour.

For at a time, add -ზე: ოთხის ნახევარზე (at 3:30), ოთხის ათ წუთზე (at 3:10).

On timetables and phones, times are in digits, such as 15:30. Read them as numbers, თხუთმეტი ოცდაათი, or the clock way, ოთხის ნახევარი.

Naming the hour that has already begun, as English does, to mean 3:30.
სამის ნახევარია.
ოთხის ნახევარია.
სამის ნახევარი is 2:30. For 3:30, name the coming hour: ოთხის ნახევარი.
