მიყვარხარ
I Love You
მიყვარხარ (miq'varkhar) means I love you.
How It Works
A feeling verb has room for two people. The one who feels is marked at the front, and the one who is loved at the end. The endings look like the verb to be:
| Form | Meaning |
|---|---|
| მიყვარს | I love him, her or it |
| მიყვარხარ | I love you |
| მიყვარხართ | I love you all, or you (polite) |
| გიყვარვარ | you love me |
| ვუყვარვარ | he or she loves me |
| გვიყვარხარ | we love you |
So in მიყვარხარ, the მ- says that I feel it, and the -ხარ says that you are the one loved, like ხარ (you are). In გიყვარვარ, the გ- is you and the -ვარ is me.
Like works the same way: მომწონხარ (momts'onkhar) (I like you).
If you say the pronouns, the person who feels is in the dative and the person loved in the nominative: მე შენ მიყვარხარ. Usually the verb is enough.
