მე/შენ/ის
I, You, He and She
მე, შენ and ის mean I, you and he, she or it.
How It Works
| Pronoun | Meaning | With to be |
|---|---|---|
| მე | I | მე ვარ |
| შენ | you (one person you know well) | შენ ხარ |
| ის | he, she, it | ის არის |
ის has no gender, so ის ჩემი მეგობარი არის can be about a man or a woman.
ის also means that: ის კაცი (that man). Its place makes the meaning clear: before a noun it is that, and on its own it is he, she or it.
მე and შენ keep the same form with feeling verbs: მე ყავა მინდა (I want coffee). ის changes to მან or მას in some sentences, which you will learn at Level 2.
