ჩემი/შენი/მისი
My, Your, His and Her
ჩემი, შენი and მისი mean my, your and his, her or its.
How It Works
| Word | Meaning | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ჩემი | my, mine | ჩემი სახელი ნინო არის. |
| შენი | your, yours (to one friend) | შენი ძაღლი ლამაზი არის. |
| მისი | his, her, its | მისი სახლი დიდი არის. |
These words work like adjectives: they come first and stay the same with a plural noun: ჩემი წიგნები (my books).
Also like adjectives, they change a little in other cases: ჩემს სახლში (in my house). You will learn that at Level 2.
To say your to a stranger, use თქვენი, the polite form.
A short answer can use the possessive alone: ვისი წიგნი არის? ჩემი (Whose book is it? Mine).
