მან/მას/მისი
Cases of He and She
ის (he, she, it) changes form: მას as an object or feeler, მისი for his or her, and მან as a past-tense doer.
How It Works
| Form | Job | Example |
|---|---|---|
| ის | subject | ის თბილისში ცხოვრობს. (She lives in Tbilisi.) |
| მას | object | მას ვხედავ. (I see him.) |
| მას | the one who feels or has | მას ყავა უყვარს. (She loves coffee.) |
| მისი | his, her, its | მისი და ექიმი არის. (His sister is a doctor.) |
| მან | past-tense doer (Level 3) | მან თქვა. (He said.) |
With postpositions, ის uses მას- or მის-: მასთან (at his or her place), მისთვის (for him or her).
None of these forms shows he or she: მას უყვარს means he loves or she loves.
ეს (this) changes the same way: ამას, ამის, ამან. You will meet these at Level 3.
