ჩვენ/თქვენ/ისინი
We, You and They
ჩვენ, თქვენ and ისინი mean we, you and they.
How It Works
| Pronoun | Meaning | To be | To live |
|---|---|---|---|
| ჩვენ | we | ვართ | ვცხოვრობთ |
| თქვენ | you (several, or polite) | ხართ | ცხოვრობთ |
| ისინი | they | არიან | ცხოვრობენ |
Look at ვცხოვრობთ (we live) and ცხოვრობთ (you live): only the ვ- is different. The -თ at the end marks the plural.
თქვენ is also the polite you for one person, such as a stranger, an elder or a customer. See the Polite You topic.
ისინი has no gender, so it covers any group of people.
Like the singular pronouns, they are usually left out when the verb makes the person clear: ქუთაისში ვცხოვრობთ (we live in Kutaisi).
