करबऽ / करबू

You Will: -बऽ and -बू

Level 2Sounds Like karaba̕ ā karabū

तू कब अइबऽ? asks a man when he will come, and तू कब अइबू? asks a woman.

How It Works

VerbTo a manTo a woman
जाइल goजइबऽजइबू
आवल comeअइबऽअइबू
खाइल eatखइबऽखइबू
करल doकरबऽकरबू
देखल seeदेखबऽदेखबू

Compare हम आइब (I will come) with तू अइबऽ (you will come). Vowel stems shorten: आ becomes अ, जा becomes ज.

Use these forms only with तू, which is for friends, siblings and children. To an elder, use रउआ with the -ब form: रउआ काल्ह आइब? Negative sentences put ना before the verb: तू काल्ह ना अइबऽ?

The ऽ in -बऽ is written but only marks a short final a.

    तू काल्ह अइबऽ?

-ब alone is for हम and रउआ.

  • Using the wrong gender ending.

    नेहा, तू कब अइबऽ?
    नेहा, तू कब अइबू?

    A woman takes -बू.
