-ি লোৱা
Doing It for Yourself: -ি লোৱা
এই টুপীটো পিন্ধি লওক “please put on this hat”.
How It Works
লোৱা alone means “to take”. After the -ি form it keeps a little of that meaning: the action is for the doer.
| Person asked | Command | Example |
|---|---|---|
| আপুনি | -ি লওক | পিন্ধি লওক please put it on |
| তুমি | -ি ল’বাঁ | শিকি ল’বাঁ learn it |
Compare the helper দিয়া, which sends the action to another person. পিন্ধি লওক means you put on the hat yourself. The verb লওঁ / লোৱা / লয় has its own row at Level 2. After the -ি form it works as a helper, and you only need the endings you already know: লওক for আপুনি, ল’বাঁ for তুমি.

Learn This First
লোৱা comes after the -ি form and is a form of ল “take”, so learners need both first.
