Polite Requests and Instructions
-ক is the polite request for আপুনি, and -াঁ is the command for তুমি.
How It Works
| Verb | আপুনি, polite | তুমি, friend |
|---|---|---|
The nasal mark ঁ separates the command from the present. “do you come here in the morning?” has no mark, and ইয়ালৈ আহাঁ “come here!” has it.
The -ক request sounds polite. Use it with elders, customers and people you do not know well.
Verbs with a vowel stem add the same endings. যা “go” gives যাওক for আপুনি and যোৱাঁ for তুমি.
To tell someone not to do something, use নকৰিব or নকৰিবাঁ.
