-تے -تے
During Repeated or Continued Activity
Repeat the activity form, then give the main event.
How It Works
The main clause can report fatigue, an interruption, a discovery or another development. The repeated form keeps the earlier activity in view as the background.
The -تے form is not selected by the gender of the person in these adverbial examples. A feminine main verb can follow it.
Do not confuse this with -تے ہی, which emphasizes an immediate boundary. Repetition instead makes the stretch of activity noticeable.
