गोड लागते / छान लागतो
Taste and How Something Feels
Add मला before the taste when you give your own opinion: ही भाजी मला छान लागते.
How It Works
लागणे means "to taste" here. The taste word comes right before it: गोड (sweet), कडू (bitter), तिखट (spicy), खारट (salty), आंबट (sour), छान (good).
| Food | Gender | Sentence |
|---|---|---|
| चहा | masculine | हा चहा गोड लागतो. |
| कॉफी | feminine | ही कॉफी कडू लागते. |
| दूध | neuter | हे दूध गोड लागते. |
| पोहे | plural | हे पोहे तिखट लागतात. |
Taste words such as गोड and तिखट never change their ending. Only the verb changes.
To say who thinks so, add the person in the -ला form: मला हा चहा छान लागतो. (I like the taste of this tea.) The verb still follows the tea.
Add खूप for a stronger taste: हा चहा खूप गोड लागतो. (This tea tastes very sweet.) For a little, put थोडा, थोडी or थोडे before the taste word, matching the food: ही कॉफी थोडी कडू लागते. (This coffee tastes a little bitter.)
The same verb works for how something feels to the touch: हे पाणी गार लागते. (This water feels cold.)
