ვერავინ/ვერაფერი
No One Could
ვერავინ means no one could, and ვერაფერი means nothing could, or couldn't do anything.
How It Works
| Plain no | No, because unable |
|---|---|
| არავინ მოვიდა. (No one came.) | ვერავინ (veravin) მოვიდა. (No one could come.) |
| არაფერი ვთქვი. (I said nothing.) | ვერაფერი (veraperi) ვთქვი. (I couldn't say anything.) |
The same pattern gives ვერსად (nowhere, couldn't anywhere) and ვერასდროს (never could).
Choose the case the verb needs. With a present-tense doing verb, the object is in the dative: ამ სათვალით ვერაფერს ვკითხულობ (I can't read anything with these glasses).
As a doer in the past, ვერავინ keeps its form, just as ვინ does: ვერავინ გამოიცნო (no one could guess it).
