ვინ
Who
ვინ means who.
How It Works
| Question | Meaning |
|---|---|
| ვინ არის ის? | Who is that? |
| ვინ მოდის? | Who's coming? |
| ვინ ცხოვრობს აქ? | Who lives here? |
| ეს ვინ არის? | Who is this? |
Use ვინ for the subject of a present-tense verb or of to be. For the object of a present-tense doing verb, use ვის: ვის ხედავ? (Who do you see?)
ვინ has no plural form. To ask about several people, keep ვინ and make the verb plural: ვინ არიან ისინი? (Who are they?)
The word for whose is ვისი: ვისი წიგნი არის? (Whose book is it?) You will learn it at Level 2.
