ვინმე/რამე
Anyone and Anything
ვინმე means anyone and რამე means anything, in questions, if-clauses and requests.
How It Works
| Kind | Person | Thing | Use |
|---|---|---|---|
| any | ვინმე (vinme) | რამე (rame) | questions, if, requests |
| some | ვიღაც | რაღაც | a real one you don't name |
| none | არავინ | არაფერი | negative sentences |
Compare: ვინმე მოვიდა? (Did anyone come?) asks whether there was a person at all. ვიღაც მოვიდა (someone came) says there was one.
In an if-clause: თუ რამე გინდა, მითხარი (if you want anything, tell me).
Other words follow the same pattern with -მე: სადმე (anywhere) and როდისმე (ever).
In a negative sentence, use არავინ or არაფერი instead: არავინ მოვიდა (nobody came).
