খালোঁ / খালা / খালে
Ate: খালোঁ, খালা, খালে
খা “eat” or “drink” gives মই খালোঁ, তুমি খালা and সি খালে: মই চাহ খালোঁ “I drank tea”.
How It Works
Verbs whose stem ends in a vowel add -লোঁ, -লা or -লে.
| Who | খা “eat” | পা “get” | দি “give” |
|---|---|---|---|
| মই, আমি | খালোঁ | পালোঁ | দিলোঁ |
| তুমি | খালা | পালা | দিলা |
| আপুনি, সি, তাই | খালে | পালে | দিলে |
Examples: মই চাহ খালোঁ “I drank tea”, তুমি ভাত খালা “you ate rice” and তাই পিঠা খালে “she ate pitha”.
A stem that ends in a consonant, such as কৰ, adds the vowel ি first, as in কৰিলোঁ. That small vowel is the difference between the two groups.
Question words go before the verb: তুমি কি খালা? “what did you eat?”.
