হ’ম / হ’বা / হ’ব
Being or Becoming in the Future
হ’ম, হ’বা and হ’ব are the future of “be, become”.
How It Works
The apostrophe in হ’ is part of the word. It is the sign for the vowel sound o, so write it as ’ and not as a quote mark.
| Person | Future of হ’ | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| মই, আমি | হ’ম | I, we will be |
| তুমি | হ’বা | you will be |
| আপুনি, তেওঁ, সি, তাই | হ’ব | you, he, she will be |
The verb means “be” when you describe something, and “become” when something changes. ৰুমটো কাইলৈ খালী হ’ব “the room will be free tomorrow” describes a state, and মই ডাক্তৰ হ’ম “I will be a doctor” describes a change.
You will often hear হ’ব, because it serves আপুনি, তেওঁ, সি, তাই and things alike.
