যাম / যাবা / যাব
Future of Verbs That End in a Vowel
After a vowel, the future endings are -ম, -বা and -ব.
How It Works
The endings are the same as in কৰিম / কৰিবা / কৰিব, but a stem that ends in a vowel does not add -ি.
| Person | যা “go” | খা “eat” | দি “give” |
|---|---|---|---|
| মই, আমি | যাম | খাম | দিম |
| তুমি | যাবা | খাবা | দিবা |
| আপুনি, তেওঁ, সি, তাই | যাব | খাব | দিব |
A group takes the same form as one person: ৰূপজ্যোতি আৰু জোনালী যাব “Rupjyoti and Jonali will go”.
The negative copies the vowel that follows the prefix: নাযাব “will not go”, নাখাব “will not eat”, নিদিব “will not give”. Some speakers say নেযাব, and that is not an error.

খা gives খাম.
- তুমি চাহ খাবা।
You will drink tea.
খা “eat” is also used for drinking tea.
