Noun + yuzasidan = regarding, on the matter of: Shikoyat yuzasidan tekshiruv oʻtkazildi (An inspection was carried out on the complaint).

How It Works

How it is built. Yuzasidan = yuza (surface) + -si + -dan. The noun before it takes no case ending: murojaat yuzasidan, not murojaatga yuzasidan.

Regarding a matter. In official writing, yuzasidan ties an action to the case it deals with:

  • murojaat yuzasidan (regarding the appeal)
  • shikoyat yuzasidan (on the complaint)
  • masala yuzasidan qaror (a decision on the matter)

Reply letters often begin Murojaatingiz yuzasidan maʼlum qilamizki, ... (Regarding your appeal, we inform you that ...), with the linking -ki. A possessive on the noun shows whose appeal it is.

Out of, as a matter of. With a few words, yuzasidan gives a reason or motive: hurmat yuzasidan (out of respect), odob yuzasidan (out of politeness), ehtiyot yuzasidan (as a precaution), xizmat yuzasidan (on official business).

Everyday choices. In daily speech, haqida or boʻyicha is more natural for the first meaning: shikoyat boʻyicha (on the complaint).

Common Mistakes

  • Adding -ga to the noun before yuzasidan.

    Shikoyatga yuzasidan tekshiruv oʻtkazildi.
    Shikoyat yuzasidan tekshiruv oʻtkazildi.

    Some formal words, such as binoan and koʻra, need -ga. Yuzasidan does not: the noun stays bare.
