-تا / -تی / -تے + جانا
Progressive Continuation or Change
Use the تا, تی or تے form before the continuation phrase.
How It Works
Match the participle and the rest of the verbal phrase to the subject: آواز بڑھتی جا رہی ہے. Feminine آواز selects بڑھتی and رہی.
An earlier sequence can use a form such as پڑھتا گیا. In بلال ایک کے بعد ایک خط پڑھتا گیا, the letters are read successively. The subject remains unmarked.
Read the full construction before translating جانا as “go.” A growing pile or a worsening situation can take this pattern while staying in the same place.
