को कारण
Because of
को कारण gives the cause of something.
How It Works
को कारण is a two-word postposition. The noun before it takes को: वर्षाको कारण, ट्राफिकको कारण, हिउँको कारण. A pronoun uses its own form (मेरो कारण). News writing often uses का कारण, as in बाढीका कारण. The word कारण is written apart, like लागि in को लागि.
The result is a normal sentence after it: वर्षाको कारण बाटो बन्द भयो.
To give a cause that is an action, put the verb in the -एको form and then कारण: बिरामी भएको कारण (because he was sick). You may also hear कारणले, with ले added, and it means the same.
Do not mix it up with किनभने. किनभने starts a separate clause: ऊ आएन, किनभने ऊ बिरामी थियो.
