My and Your Before Endings

Level 2Sounds Like mājhyā / tujhyā / tyācyā

The same shape fits every gender:

How It Works

PlainBefore an ending

The noun takes its own shape as well. माझा मित्र becomes माझ्या मित्राला (to my friend), and माझे घर becomes माझ्या घरी (at my house).

Use this shape when the noun it goes with takes -ला, -त, -वर, -शी or a similar ending. Say माझ्या मित्राला, तुझ्या शाळेत, आमच्या घरी and तुमच्या गावाकडे with the same shape.

Without an ending, a singular noun keeps the plain form:

The pronouns माझ्या, तुझ्या and त्याच्या look like the shapes in माझ्यासाठी / तुझ्याबरोबर / त्याच्याशी, but here they come before a noun and say whose it is.
