Common Irregular Past Forms
जाणे matches the doer, and the other verbs match the thing that is done.
How It Works

जाणे has no object, so it matches the person who goes: तो गेला, ती गेली. The other verbs have an object, so they match the object: मी चहा केला, मी भाजी केली, मी जेवण केले.
A third-person doer takes -ने: तिने चहा केला. मी, तू, आम्ही and तुम्ही take no -ने. If the object itself ends in -ला, the verb stays neuter: तिने मुलाला पाहिले (She saw the boy).
Questions and negatives use the same forms: तू काय घेतलेस? (What did you take?) and मी चहा घेतला नाही (I did not have tea). देणे puts the person who gets something in the -ला form: त्याने मला पैसे दिले.
These forms need to be learned one by one.

दिले matches the plural object पैसे.
- सईने आंबा खाल्ला.
Sai ate the mango.
खाल्ला matches the masculine object आंबा.
Common Mistakes
Making a regular past from जाणे.
तो काल शाळेत जाला.तो काल शाळेत गेला.जाणे has the irregular past stem गे-.
Making the verb match the doer.
मी भाजी घेतला.मी भाजी घेतली.भाजी is feminine, so the verb is घेतली.
