-बा सँ पहिने means "before doing".

How It Works

The pattern: the -बा form of the verb + सँ पहिने.

With nouns, it works the same way: साँझ सँ पहिने (before evening), भोजन सँ पहिने (before the meal).

The opposite is -लाक बाद, which is taught in this level too: जेबा सँ पहिने (before going), गेलाक बाद (after going).

Use a command, a plain statement or a habit in the main clause. जेबा सँ पहिने फोन करू is a request. सुतबा सँ पहिने बउआ दूध पिबैत अछि is a habit.

Hindi says "जाने से पहले". Maithili says जेबा सँ पहिने.

The Hindi -ने से पहले does not exist in Maithili. Use -बा सँ पहिने.
