წავიდეთ (Let's)
Let's
The we-form of the optative means let's: წავიდეთ! (let's go!)
How It Works
| Future (we) | Let's ... |
|---|---|
| წავალთ (we'll go) | წავიდეთ (ts'avidet) (let's go) |
| ვნახავთ (we'll see) | ვნახოთ (let's see) |
| დავიწყებთ (we'll start) | დავიწყოთ (let's start) |
| ვიცეკვებთ (we'll dance) | ვიცეკვოთ (let's dance) |
The we-form of the optative is the same form you use after მინდა or უნდა: უნდა წავიდეთ (we have to go). On its own, it becomes a suggestion.
მოდი (to one friend) or მოდით (to several, or politely) makes it warmer: მოდით, დავიწყოთ (come on, let's start).
For let's not, put არ before it: არ წავიდეთ (let's not go).
A question with it asks what the others think: დღეს სად ვისადილოთ? (Where shall we have lunch today?)
