როგორც კი
As Soon as
როგორც კი means as soon as.
How It Works
| Time | Example |
|---|---|
| future | როგორც კი სახლში მივალ, დაგირეკავ. (As soon as I get home, I'll call you.) |
| future | როგორც კი დრო მექნება, მოგწერ. (As soon as I have time, I'll write to you.) |
| past | როგორც კი წვიმა შეწყდა, გარეთ გავედით. (As soon as the rain stopped, we went outside.) |
Watch the tense after როგორც კი (rogorts k'i). English says as soon as I get home, with the present, but Georgian uses the future: მივალ (I will get there). The event has not happened yet.
The როგორც კი clause usually comes first, but it can also follow: დაგირეკავ, როგორც კი სახლში მივალ.
კი is part of the phrase. როგორც alone means as or like.
