მომეწონა

I Liked It

Level 3Sounds Like mometsʼona

მომეწონა (momets'ona) means I liked something I just saw or tried.

How It Works

მომწონს (momts'ons) means I like, in general. მომეწონა (momets'ona) is its past, for something you saw, ate or tried once and liked:

  • მომწონს ქართული მუსიკა (I like Georgian music)
  • კონცერტი მომეწონა (I liked the concert)

theyმოეწონათ

As with all feeling verbs, the person who liked it is in the dative, never with -მა, and the thing is in the nominative: ნინოს საჩუქარი მოეწონა (Nino liked the present).

მოგეწონა? (Did you like it?) is the usual question after a meal, a film or a trip. A warm answer is კი, ძალიან მომეწონა! (Yes, I really liked it!)
