მირჩევნია
I Prefer
მირჩევნია (mirchevnia) means I prefer.
How It Works
მირჩევნია (mirchevnia) means I prefer, or I would rather. It is a feeling verb:
| Person | Form |
|---|---|
| I | მირჩევნია |
| you | გირჩევნია |
| he, she | ურჩევნია |
| we | გვირჩევნია |
Two things are compared. The one you prefer is in the nominative. The one you like less takes the dative -ს:
- ჩაი მირჩევნია ყავას (I prefer tea to coffee)
- ზღვას მთა მირჩევნია (I prefer the mountains to the sea)
Word order is free, so look at the endings, not the order, to see which one is preferred.
To ask, join the two choices with თუ (or): ჩაი გირჩევნია თუ ყავა? (Do you prefer tea or coffee?) Verbal nouns work too: დღეს სახლში დარჩენა მირჩევნია (I'd rather stay home today).
