მეტი/ნაკლები

More and Less

Level 2Sounds Like metʼi/nakʼlebi

მეტი means more and ნაკლები means less or fewer, before a noun.

How It Works

უფრო makes an adjective stronger: უფრო დიდი (bigger). For more or less of a thing, use these two words instead:

GeorgianEnglish
მეტი დროmore time
მეტი ტურისტიmore tourists
ნაკლები შაქარიless sugar
ნაკლები ხალხიfewer people

The noun after მეტი and ნაკლები stays singular, the same as after a number or after ბევრი: მეტი ტურისტი means more tourists.

For more than a number, put -ზე on the number and მეტი after it: ასზე მეტი (more than a hundred). This is the same -ზე that means than.

მეტი also works on its own: მეტი მინდა (I want more).
