How It Works

Verbs such as parlar de, dependre de and adonar-se de license en when their complement is understood. Thus parlem del projecte becomes en parlem. The original preposition disappears because en already represents that relation.

In a paragraph with several de phrases, determine which one en actually replaces. De la resolució, en depèn el calendari refers to the decision governing the calendar, not to a quantity of calendar items. In en desconec els motius, en can represent the noun's de-complement. Spell se n'adona as a complete pronominal construction and keep an explicit full complement when an isolated en would leave reference uncertain.
