Verb + de
Verbs Governing De
De is governed by verbs such as dependre, parlar and adonar-se.
How It Works
Dependre de la decisió and parlar del projecte contain a required de-complement. Adonar-se de adds a reflexive component: s'adona de l'error. These phrases name the dependency, topic or realized fact; they are not automatically possessive expressions.
When that complement is understood, en can replace it: en depèn, en parlem, se n'adona. Keep both the reflexive and en where the verb requires them.
Before a finite que clause, formal usage commonly drops the preposition: s'adona que falta una dada. Before a noun or suitable infinitive it remains. Distinguish these environments instead of deleting de whenever it is difficult to translate into English.
