တိုင်း
Every Time
After a verb, the တိုင်း part comes first, and the thing that always follows comes second.
How It Works
တိုင်း goes right after the word it counts. It never goes in front.
| With a noun | English | With a verb | English |
|---|---|---|---|
| နေ့တိုင်း | every day | ရောက်တိုင်း | every time I arrive |
| မနက်တိုင်း | every morning | ကြားတိုင်း | every time I hear it |
| လတိုင်း | every month | မိုးရွာတိုင်း | every time it rains |
| လူတိုင်း | everyone | တွေ့တိုင်း | every time we meet |
With a noun, drop တွေ. Say လူတိုင်း for "everyone", never လူတွေတိုင်း.
With a verb, the verb before တိုင်း takes no ending. The second part says what happens each time: ဒီသီချင်းကြားတိုင်း အမေ့ကို သတိရတယ် (Every time I hear this song, I think of my mother).
A week is အပတ်, so "every week" is အပတ်တိုင်း. "Every year" is နှစ်တိုင်း.
For a habit, the time word with တိုင်း is enough: ကျွန်မ မနက်တိုင်း လမ်းလျှောက်တယ် (I go for a walk every morning). Add အမြဲ for extra weight.

Common Mistakes
Keeping တွေ before တိုင်း.
လူတွေတိုင်း သိတယ်။လူတိုင်း သိတယ်။တိုင်း already means every one, so the noun stays plain.
Leaving the ending on the verb before တိုင်း.
ရန်ကုန်ရောက်တယ်တိုင်း ဒီဆိုင်ကို လာတယ်။ရန်ကုန်ရောက်တိုင်း ဒီဆိုင်ကို လာတယ်။Only the last verb takes တယ်.
